The Indian Space Research Organization
ISRO is one organization that I highly respect. I am sure one of the biggest contributor in this is my interest for space research and exploration. In addition to the INSAT, IRS, PSLV and GSLV space programs, ISRO is moving towards scaling new heights considering their plans for India's first lunar vehicle, Chandrayaan - 1, and a reusable space shuttle that would reduce the cost of space missions to about 1/10th of the current levels.
What makes me more proud about this organization is new articles like the one I read a few days ago - The Indian Space Research organization's (ISRO) satellite-based search and rescue network has helped save 30 crew of a Panama registered ship `Glory Moon.' This is a big example of how various technologies are connected and are multi-faceted. Space research program is not just for exploring the unknown that lies beyond the Earth, but to understand how this can affect us in a positive way and make this planet a better place to live.

Ok now. I know you have a penchant for anything and everything in "transportation" but space research ??? Exactly what are you trying to transport here and to whom :-)
dunno if its transportation here, i think its the unknown that intrigues me ... how did things happen ... i love the concept of a dynamic universe :)
